    I worked at Sonae full-time

    Pros

-Big company with training and learning opportunities
-Brand name and prestige in Iberian peninsula
    -Responsibilities from day 1

    Cons

-Salaries are very uneven between junior and senior employees, frugality is not applied to all employees and compensation is not fair for the amount of work
-Career progression is slow and not entirely meritocratic, depends also on your family connections and being liked by the management
-Very political and hierarchical, decisions are not entirely results oriented

    Advice to Management

Cut redundant hierarchies, reduce pay inequity and promote career growth

I have been working at Sonae full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great school; Great place to start a carrear; We learn a great deal about retail;

    Cons

Low salaries, in general; Lots of internal opportunities, but usually difficult to be considered; no schedule flexibility at all; wouldn't recommend staying for more than 5 years; no schedule flexibility at all; wouldn't recommend staying for more than 5 years; Too much internal bureaucracy; Poor communication between departments

    Advice to Management

We don't have schedule flexibility, but some area managers take this to an extreme. Where I work, we can only take 2 breaks a day, and cannot spend more than 15 minutes in each, even if, at some point of the day we're not being productive and could really use a break. Our lunch time cannot take more that 1 hour, and it is controlled. This is really some old school mindset. It's time you trust us more.

I worked at Sonae full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have a great human team
Always trying to invest to be ahead
    The company culture and values
    Outstanding HT program

    Cons

They are very slow to make a decision
They try to follow agile methodologies but the company culture cannot adapt to the trial and error system

    Advice to Management

It is a good place to grow although the teams are not highly qualify. In the Madrid office they have a lack of compromise in the staff due to poor first line management.
