    Pros

great experience, good pay for an intern

    Cons

managers do not know how to treat interns, poor management in that people were rude or did not talk to the interns at all, passive aggressive

I have been working at Sonic Automotive full-time

    Pros

Job is fairly easy just move cars park them and greetings the clients. Salary is fairly good comparing what u need to do which is 11$ hour aproximatelly. Free lunch all Saturdays. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

Weather is intense heat or cold. Sometimes too much pressure on assistants service advisors when is not their fault. The advisors need to be more organized with the keys and not simply blame the assistants. Work can be anoying sometimes but I think all works are anoying , hey! Is better than working at MacDonald's !!!!!

    Advice to Management

Get better advisors and better training. Most of the stuff learned there I figure it out by myself.

I have been working at Sonic Automotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent income . Good environment to grow. Easy product to sale. Pretty laid back and are able to work at your own pace.

    Cons

Managers can use alot of training on people skills. A higher base pay will be ideal being that it's so expensive to live in Bay area.

I have been working at Sonic Automotive full-time

    Pros

    I work, they pay me.

    Cons

Very cold, corporate atmosphere. The people are great, but when it comes to the atmosphere, people can only make you happy for so long.

    Pros

Pretty good pay plan...long you make good gross.

    Cons

How they do trade-ins (controlling it from corporate) is absolutely stupid; along with the pricing formula.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to leave pricing decisions to the stores.

    Pros

Better than average environment, as relative to other auto Dealerships.

    Cons

Quality of salespeople, however is on a downward slide as a result of corporate and regional budget cuts. This in time will bring what is a relatively decent environment, back to the mean.
To keep quality and integrity in tact, corporate must pay less attention to fluciation in sales cycle via budgets and more ATTENTION to the quality of the capital (human) that if kept in place will smooth out the gyrations of slower sales due to economic cycles and gyrations.
If not......the impact of the cycling process, will deepen and be come much more embedded, making recovery extremely difficult. This in turn will increase the difficulty of upper managements decision making and eventual outcomes to the shareholders.

    Advice to Management

Come to the conclusion that human capital, is the real asset that drives the car. Maintain and hire INTEGRITY and reward them as if they are truly recognized as the driver behind shareholder value as well as the only avenue that will allow the exercising of management stock option that they are bonuses as a result of the most precious asset...human capital.

I worked at Sonic Automotive full-time

    Pros

While there was the promise of making up to 6-figures and freedom of schedule, that wasn't the case. It was nice to meet new people everyday, though.

    Cons

The promises of the position were not delivered. There was never an opportunity to earn commission because of management, and the "free schedule" ended up being 12hr days 6, sometimes 7 days a week.

    Advice to Management

adjust the Work/Life Balance or pay more

    Pros

Benefits are grouped with more people allowing more leverage. Larger network of dealerships to move within. Access to more resources such as management academies,

    Cons

Loss of small family run atmosphere. Many perks removed due to inability to apply across more people or locations. Even though it is a larger network of dealerships it is difficult to move if store or manger values employee.

    Advice to Management

Keep small perks or low cost incentives which really help keep morale good. Measure which perk helps by temporarily removing so as to not waste on unneeded costs.
