Cons
Not much to say here

Pros
They pay for your travel time to and from jobs if you are using their vehicle.
Cons
Low pay for the amount of work. You must rely on overtime and a high job completion rate with 0 errors to make a fair wage. You have to be on the good side of the "Management Good ol Boys" club to get promoted. They had been using contractors to do fill-in work, but they are guaranteed several jobs every day and as an employee, you are not. I saw cases where people had met the requirements for a promotion and raise, but due to a lack of training staff, they had to wait up to 6 months to be trained and get their raise.
- 2.0Oct 19, 2023Field SalesFormer Employee, less than 1 year
Pros
They sell 10 gigabit fiber for 50 dollars a month.
Cons
Oversaturation in most of their existing areas. They are trying to offer fiber via door to door in poorer neighbor hoods which do not like door to door sales people -- Sonic's choices for offering their fiber services is not based on legitimate metrics and they have very low market penetration in these poorer neighborhoods. They have instituted health policies for their 1000+ employees based on CDC guidelines and they have ignored lots of highly respected scientists which are the top of their fields and disagree with the CDC.
- 3.0Oct 31, 2023Field Service TechnicianFormer Employee, less than 1 yearOakland, CA
Pros
Good company, good employees, possibility for bonuses, company car provided
Cons
Lots of driving, work alone, can be psychically demanding, work outside in rain or hot sun.
- 5.0Aug 10, 2023Fiber Splicer Tech lllCurrent Employee, more than 3 yearsHayward, CA
Pros
Sonic allows you to work unsupervised once you've proven to them that you have a good work ethic and can be a trustworthy employee.
Cons
A little less competitive with the pay rate but they do have a spiff program to help with that.
- 1.0Sep 20, 2023TechnicianCurrent Employee, more than 1 yearSanta Rosa, CA
Pros
Opportunity to work with different customer in different environments every day! Customer satisfaction through Sonic products are consistent.
Cons
Poor management skills, no respect for installer technicians who are the life of the company. Will burn out there techs and replace them. They also have contracted work out so now the in house techs don’t have as much work.
- 4.0Sep 9, 2023Fiber Optic TechnicianCurrent Employee, more than 3 yearsSanta Rosa, CA
Pros
Plenty or room for advancement, great co workers / company culture, work van and gas card provided by company , paid drive time
Cons
The hours can be brutal sometimes. It is not uncomon to work anywhere from 10 - 13 hours, granted part of this is driving to and from jobs etc.
- 4.0Jun 5, 2023Technical Support Specialist ICurrent Employee, more than 1 yearSanta Rosa, CA
Pros
Great culture and employees, and friendly management team that helps you through your onboarding process. Supervisors are there to help you succeed. Sonic has a good rep for an ISP (internet service provider) so customer interactions are overall friendlier than other big name ISPs.
Cons
Very low salary for a HCOL area (Bay Area) which results in very high turnover in this department (Technical Support). This department is a call center, so you will most likely have non-standard M-F work hours for night/weekend coverage. And their work "culture", which was by far their best asset, took a hit since the pandemic as most everyone is remote and they stopped the in-person quarterly meetings/holiday parties.

Pros
Remote work and great work life balance
Cons
Pay is well below industry standard.
