    I have been working at Sonic part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Really good working environment, managers really listen to you instead of boss you around. Also being a carhop combined with the tips I made minimum wage plus a few extra bucks, which at the end ended up being about 12$ the hour

    Cons

    15 minute breaks and sometimes it's super bussy being a fast food restaurant. You really have to be on your toes.

    non existent benefits, poor maintenance of the store, blatant disregard for employee safety

    Get the owners to maintenance or replace all of the faulty equipment. Invest in your employees and they will return tenfold

    Pros

    It is a fast pace, ever changing environment. They have a lot of promotions and let the employees dress up on these days to have fun.

    Cons

    The whole company needs to change their culture to fit in with the work force of today, not 30 years ago. Pay your people what they are worth, and change the culture to be more trendy with the times.

    Advice to Management

    Listen more, care more and the teams will be more willing to help out in so many ways.

    Cons

    There was no management so there was nobody there telling you when to take breaks or when to go home. Everyone had the same job.

    Pros

    Pay is good. That's about it.

    Cons

    The people are snobs. They openly discriminate. Ongoing lack of standardization unexpected at such a company. Lack of tools/information to preform job duties. Stubborn management when proposing ideas and solutions that "stray from scope". Stagnating. Favoritism. Two-faced (smile in your face calling it "professionalism" but would stab you in the back if given the chance. I would highly recommend going somewhere else if you have the skills. Thank me later!

    They wouldn't listen anyways. Believe me. I tried (understatement).

    The crew is excellent, like family.
    Customers are incredible.
    The food is the best.
    Great shifts for those still in school.
    50% discount and 15 minute breaks.
    Great for those who love working with a team.

    Cons

    Part Time shifts only.
    4.50 is start pay.
    The clean up can get nasty.
    Fast paced, can get hectic usually around happy hour.
    Two carhops only per shift.

    No advice is needed. They got it!

    Great way to enhance Customer Service skills. Awesome environment if you have the right team to work with. Lots of fun!!!

    Wish the corporate office would listen to the ideas of its employees sometimes. And pay attention, not take advantage of, to your managers that actually work hard.

    Listen to your management. I know there are some that actually care about Sonic and what it brings to its customers.

    Good training to put you into perspective of how the service world works. You also learn a lot about icecream

    Low pay, bad hours. Sometimes demanding work for same pay and a usually hostile work place. carhops fight for tips

    Pros

    Laid back and pretty easy to learn, customers are usually friendly and leave a nice tip. If you work hard you can get raises.

    Cons

    Some of the customers can be rude and or annoying and also not tip. Can also get busy when the shakes go on sale and what not.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!
