I worked at SonicWALL full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

(1)Great daily commute with against-traffic driving between company and my home in Sunnyvale.
(2)Engineer-driven company and engineer gets fully support to do his work.

    Cons

Lack of communications between different functional groups.

    Advice to Management

Encourage engineers to connect cross groups and get a big picture of company product. That will motivate engineers more. The company makes great products not only depending on just a few "key" managers, but also on all levels of engineers.

    Pros

Personally I find SonicWall a pleasant place to work. The benefits are good, they have 401K matching, and the managers, directors, and VP's I deal with are great.

    Cons

SonicWall is not very consistent at giving raises and they are normally around 2% of your salary. Their employee bonus system is meager at best, even after having record revenue numbers.

    Advice to Management

As with any company, upper management should never forget the "little guys" who make it happen. Recognition is one thing but financial rewards go a bit further - especially with moral.

    Pros

At least in the engineering team, they are very flexible on working hours and the office is usually empty until 10 in the morning.

    Cons

Low salaries. Most likely due to poor managers who cannot evaluate people's capabilities properly. Little communication between teams. Virtually no possibility of advancement. Poor organisation and operations.

    Advice to Management

Better salaries, less talk, more action.
