    Pros

Awesome people, from hourly employees to Regional/Division Managers, everyone is great to talk to and treats you like a member of the family

    Pros

    Solid company with ethical management.

I have been working at Sonoco Products part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hands-on experience, wide range of responsibilities, programming experience, work in close proximity with principal scientists, opportunities to grow.

    Cons

Not directly applicable to my current degree in Biomedical Engineering, would like more long term responsibilities, hard to get more hours during the summer due to a shortage of projects in our smaller office.

    Advice to Management

Have a hard time submitting projects with the new system, new supervisor has the office change current layout against scientists wishes.

    Pros

Great company, great benefits, great experience! Lots of room for advancement within the company. I believe this company truly cares about the employees.

    Cons

The only con I can think of is that the company is so large that you never get the opportunity to know everybody.

I have been working at Sonoco Products as an intern

    Pros

Everyone at Sonoco gives a fun, family feel to the work environment.

People are happy to help and answer any questions that you may have

Not trying to pinch pennies when it comes to travel expenses and taking care of you as an employee.

Large age gap, giving a lot of opportunity for growth for people coming into the company as a decent amount will be retiring in the upcoming years

    Cons

Sometimes feels a little too laid back and things take a little longer than they should to get done, or are oversimplified and require a lot of questions to get the clear picture. (this could just be me though)

Some of the acquired locations have very VERY strict labor unions, which sometimes makes contributing to operations a series of jumping through hoops

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. Everyone I've met has been a lot of help and I hope to return as a full time employee.

    Pros

Collaborative work environment, supportive management team, customer focused, very capable peers.

    Cons

Change be slower than desired, 300+ small plants so promotions often require relocation (pro or con depending on your view!)
