I worked at Sony Pictures Television (More than a year)

    Pros

Though I worked as a consultant, I found there was a real team spirit among the people I worked with, and I felt very welcome and appreciated there.

    Cons

Because Sony is such a large, multi-national corporation, things can sometimes get bogged down in bureaucracy as various departments are required to sign off on projects, paperwork, etc.

    Advice to Management

Try to streamline decision-making processes as much as possible and keep employees informed regarding status of various projects.

I have been working at Sony Pictures Television full-time

    Pros

Pretty relaxed company culture especially around the campus. Anyone could see themselves staying for 20-30 years and never tiring of the atmosphere. Most people that leave the company end up regretting their decision and try to come back. Luckily, Sony is so large of a company, moving to another role or career path is fairly easy. There are many networking opportunities available to employees of every level.

    Cons

Not very forward thinking. As a company, Sony seems to be trying organizational initiatives that other companies have tried and abandoned years ago. For a company known for technology, it is behind in systems, processes and trends that increase productivity. Flexible schedules, tele-commuting, summer hours are not accepted.
