    Pros

    High end of technology.
You are in the business of giving people fun experiences.
    Culture.
People. It sounds cliché, but it's true.
A desire to deliver on the tag lines.
    People with passion.

    Cons

    There aren't a lot.
    Compensation and benefits not best.
At least in my position, organizational weight sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Stay true to your core. You are so very good at it.

I worked at Sony PlayStation full-time

    Pros

Great experience for your career, full immersion into big projects.

    Cons

Verbally abusive Supervisor, 93+ hours a week on crunch time (which happens for a couple months on EVERY big game)

    Advice to Management

Plan your game development cycles better. You've been doing this long enough to not have to grind your employees to the ground. Especially the poor sound guys.

I have been working at Sony PlayStation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The San Francisco office definitely has a little more of a start-up feel (things are a little more agile), but with a strong financial backing. The politics are not bad, and everyone seems to work well with each other.

    Cons

However, there are some bureaucracies you have to deal with because Sony is a very big company. Departments which service employess (such as IT help desk and HR) are not very friendly at the SF office.

I worked at Sony PlayStation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I got a ton of free games in the three months I was employed as a PlayStation Representative. I liked being able to set my own schedule to a certain extent.

    Cons

Where do I begin. The pay is incredibly low for the amount of work you have to do. Getting shipped boxes every week and opening and organizing them all the time is time consuming in itself. My favorite account to work with was GameStop. I think the KPI metrics need to be revisited. Associate Engagement is a complete waste of time when Target, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart employees don't really care. There are a rare few that do though in those accounts. I received a warning for scheduling a day off on a day I was originally planning to work at the last minute. However, when you need to constantly schedule demo events and product trainings and a store calls you to confirm, sometimes you need to make last minute changes to avoid overtime, which is it what I did. I felt micro managed, which is something I despise. Just let me schedule my stores and events and you can view that in ROAM. The ROAM software is complete garbage. It's slow and I got a warning I wasn't writing detailed comments for my visits. Well, in the surveys, you ask what I'm doing, so I don't feel a need to write it down twice. Time keeping is a joke in itself. They need to really use Workday or Shift Planning or some other time tracking app because entering time in ADP and ROAM and then calculating your drive time is a mess in itself. HR told me I could work as much OT as I wanted, but I got a warning the first time I did, so I felt lied to. All in all, I didn't have a work/life balance and that is moist important to me.

    Pros

amazing breadth of entertainment and technology businesses

    Cons

too many silos. difficult to leverage the best of sony to come together

    Advice to Management

remove barriers between entertainment and tech and find glory. some things cannot be done by consensus but need true leadership and conviction to vision.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Sony PlayStation full-time

    Pros

It's a stable and big company - some perks that come because of that

    Cons

Horrible management, rampant use of H1bs at lower levels, management doesn't really care about measurable outcomes - all that matters is how you look to upper management.
If you are actually talented or good at what you do, don't come here

    Advice to Management

    Recognize people for the contributions.
Build a more data and outcome driven organization.
Train management to actually be good managers.

I have been working at Sony PlayStation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - I get to work with a product I've grown up with and love.
    - I get to work with some of the coolest people I've ever gotten to know.
    - The team you get really starts to become family after a while.

    Cons

    - Favoritism is a huge issue here and the only ones promoted are those on the inside, not the qualified.
    - Management doesn't really disclose things that are pertinent to our job ahead of when we'll need the information.
       - We're often left blindsided by some of the issues that happen and our stats are used against us even if it's a new issue that we don't know how to resolve.
    - The turnover rate here is pretty high and good agents leave due to management's lack of transparency/flexibility or other stupid reasons.

    Advice to Management

Do something to reward the agents that are still here and are also giving this place their all.
