I worked at Sony full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Young, creative, vibrant culture. Nice campus, cafeteria, gym.

    Cons

Poor internal tools/workflows. Former underperforming workers had been promoted, who in-turn have now hired other low-performing workers. Created a toxic/unaccountable environment. This is seeming to change (slowly) with Layden as CEO. However there are still many low-performing/stagnant SVPs and Directors which need to be flushed.

    Advice to Management

Don't become a dinosaur again (remember PS3?). Let employees innovate with less oversight. Hire better/smarter people, not your friends or colleagues. There's no shortage in the Bay Area of smart-creatives who will innovate SIE, when the old-dogs are flushed.
