    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Sorrento Pacific Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People, great management, love the comp plan, no micro management, great support and training. Open platform many products and services to offer working for a brokerage rather than an internal investment firm inside a larger retail bank. Community bank environment more personal and true relationship building.

    Cons

    No pension, no 401k match.

I have been working at Sorrento Pacific Financial full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy to run your own practice. Ability to use many different products to fulfill client needs. In banking center environment the employees are responsible for setting appointments for the advisor. Favorable beginning compensation package. Fair ongoing compensation package.

    Cons

Relatively difficult to process business. Sorrento is not the custodian for assets unless advisory. Extensive amounts of paperwork required to process business. Relatively weak benefits package.
