      Pros

The culture, flexible schedule, amazing people and teams, exciting product roadmap, performances by artists on SoundCloud, the free lunches and food.

      Cons

When the food runs out and the office can get cold.

      Pros

Super smart & passionate employees Great culture + work life balance - free lunches, great office space, flexible work schedule, artist visits The company is revolutionizing the music industry. It's definitely going places, it's just a matter of when

      Cons

Cross team collaboration is difficult between departments & countries Short term goals outweigh long term company strategy Some members of senior management are a bit out of touch

      Was an „interesting” experience

      Pros

Cool office and some of the colleagues 2 times free lunch Nice kitchen with fresh fruits and food The industry is interesting

      Cons

Work life is not very much balanced- depends on team/departments A lot of political games Not feel the internal company communication is always honest and transparent Some of the people managers are very green (i think due to lay off in summer 2018, the most experienced, probably also the most expensive employees were fired. The left-over were promoted to a higher level without enough capability and experience)

Good at generating hype; poor at all else

      Pros

Employees from a wide range of backgrounds (most of whom are not complete BS) Free lunch twice a week Profligate, even during lean times

      Cons

An unlucrative startup with the management culture of a large corporate (worst of both worlds). High turnover in engineering, meaning lots of legacy code that needs to be maintained. Employees who are interested in getting things done appear to get filtered out over time (isn't this the inverse of what it should be?) due to frustration.

Most chaotic company I ever worked for.

      Pros

Super flexible working hours, free lunches twice a week, snacks, drinks

      Cons

A cool company from outside, a nightmare to work for in the inside: - Too many unexperienced people working in middle/upper management. - Too many company politics. - Reactive approach instead of following a business strategy. - No real motivation to be there, everybody complains about the company and is looking for a new job at the moment. No cool vibe, lots of negativity around, no sense of community. - Only people friends with the upper management get promoted. - Very male-macho dominated company: be a man, talk a lot, sale yourself, and then you can get appreciated and promoted. Experience or skills are not valued.

Cool on the outside, different sotry on the inside

      Pros

Free lunch 2x a week and snacks every day; good and efficient relocation support; some experienced people although they are a minority; developers seem to like the overall experience working there

      Cons

There is an absolute lack of vision and direction. For example, the company is the same age as Spotify but has yet to introduce a meaningful monetization strategy. A lot of the people working at SoundCloud are too young with little outside experience which limits the knowledge they can draw on. There is a lot of focus on "culture" but it seems superficial, forcedl (coming from above) and almost cult-like. There is a lot of politics, structure and hierarchy for such a young and relatively small company.

A once great company; lost its culture and values

      Pros

Free breakfast and free lunch two times a week. Not as social as it used to be, still a winter/summer party.

      Cons

In the beginning there was good team spirit and a wish to create a product for musicians. Then the founders got disinterested and hired for the company many middle managers. Now instead of changing the music industry for the better the goal is to become part of the existing ecosystem by any means necessary. What were once core values of the company are now just repeated as mantras. Talented people come but do not stay for long when confronted with the politics. The company does not care for their loss as they can just hire others. Product gets worse however and no innovation. For that reason a good place to work if you are a music industry careerist, not so if you are a creative type designer/engineer/musician.
