I have been working at Source4Teachers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They are easy to talk to and get someone on the phone.

    Cons

Just need to check people out more.

    Advice to Management

The teacher do not know if we cancel a job or not. Also they need to come and check on sub sometimes. To make sure the sub is doing the job and dress for the job.

I have been working at Source4Teachers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can pick your jobs and schedule. I think that is pretty much the biggest benefit to the job. You may also get hired at one of the schools you will work for.

    Cons

Source4Teachers does not value it's employees. They will always side with the school and they don't care to even hear the other side. A male employee can flirt with a female and she choose not to return the affection. He reports a complaint to Source4Teachers and she is blocked from the school or fired. You report a student who misbehaved. The student can complain and say whatever. No one will ask you a thing but it gets put in the computer. In fact any complaint can be made and put in your file and then shared with every single school in the state. Just like being a pedophile. SLANDER is ok and encouraged. I have been here for two years and I know a lot of sad stories. BEWARE

    Advice to Management

Substitutes need more than random emails. We need your support. I know this is probably really hard to believe, but sometimes schools are dishonest and petty. They only want to use us because it's cheaper than in house. Then they want subs to achieve what there own employees can't do at times. We are people, we have families, in every school we go to we are the outsiders. Yet when problems arise in the job we have no one to go to. WE ARE ALONE AND ABANDONED

I have been working at Source4Teachers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Laid back work environment and paid weekly
Easily make your schedule using their website. Benefits are also available to employees

    Cons

Sometimes you may have to wake up early for work and wait for other nurses to call in. You are working in other nurses offices so it's good to get there early and make sure you know where they keep their supplies and MARs

    I worked at Source4Teachers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can find consistent work which can lead to other opportunities.

    Cons

The company takes too much of a percentage and although you might work everyday you are better off finding schools that hire without an agency.

    Advice to Management

Not enough oversight of the automated system. They continue to send me alerts for jobs when I have spoken to someone 3 times and have sent numerous emails.

I have been working at Source4Teachers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

*one is able to work as much or as little as desired (with only small qualifications)
*one can select jobs as a paraprofessional to decide if the school or district is a good fit before taking on a teaching position.
    *opportunities for employee benefits

    Cons

*Special Education classes are not always clearly defined when job is posted, i.e. you may think you are signing up as a classroom aide, but in reality, you are a 1 on 1 aide for someone you may not feel comfortable assisting. (e.g. physical help, toileting...)

    Advice to Management

At this point, I don't have any. They seem to be going in the right direction, but perhaps a team from the school Source contracts with should get together with a team from Source to address if needs are being met. Also Source may want to meet with the employees to hear how they think things are going.

    I worked at Source4Teachers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Consistent jobs, choice of locations to work for, the ability to get hired in a school after subbing there first.

    Cons

The pay is so low, for having to deal with some of these districts and the gross conditions the school I was in (Trenton high) it has since been closed for renovations. There were mice, roaches, and many other disgusting things.

    Advice to Management

Make sure schools aren't taking advantage of subs hired for a "long term" position and not being paid for it.
