Disappointing Company

Pros

- Good entry level experience - SourceCode Friday's (you get of at 2pm every Friday) - Mental Health and Cell Phone Stipend - Great Healthcare Coverage

Cons

Overall, I found this company to be very disappointing. There was absolutely no guidance and direction in terms of expectations. They decided to terminate me after 6 months because of vague reasons and political purposes. I was wrongly terminated and my advice is to not accept a position at SourceCode. After talking to other past employees who left had similar experiences to me of being let go for no just cause or reason. I was told "we want you to succeed and grow but just not here at SourceCode." It has a toxic workplace culture and no one really cares about you. SourceCode is a façade and portray's an image on supporting people, growth, work-life balance and diversity. However, they do nothing to show for it. There was no onboarding process. They just hired the one and only HR person which shows how this company is unorganized and not fully developed. If you want to work for a small company who can't support their employees and have unorganized processes this is the perfect place for you. I suggest look or accept another position somewhere else.

Pros

- some of the employees are the most genuine people you'll ever meet (depending on which half of the agency you fall into) - if you're looking to only do media relations, great fit -pay is pretty good

Cons

- don't allow you to really take PTO - rude/racist leadership - lack of caring about employees mental health and work life balance during covid - you're being monitored at all times.. - reward others while some get stalled promos/raises

Disorganized and Overworked

Pros

Many team members are very kind, genuine, and highly intelligent. Some benefits are decent. The leadership team are really good people, and overall want the best for employees, but they seem disconnected from the day-to-day workload and don’t recognize how unsustainable it’s become.

Cons

SourceCode works with some impressive clients, but unfortunately, the internal structure doesn’t support the scale of work they take on. Leadership often bites off more than they can chew when bringing in large, demanding accounts, leaving mid-level and junior staff to absorb the overflow and essentially do all of the hard work. The team is simply not large or equipped enough to handle the workload that comes with these clients, resulting in constant stress and burnout. Work-life balance is poor, with late nights and weekend work subtly expected. Processes are disorganized and very inefficient, with some managers only delegating rather than collaborating and carrying their weight. Proper guidance from management is lacking, the turnover is bad and so are the salaries in relation to how much work is expected. Overall, the environment is stressful and unsustainable for those seeking balance and growth.
