I worked at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Absolute wonderful staff! Along with hours and benefits were also very good. I was able to learn so much working with some of the most experience woman! They were all so kind and very intelligent!

    Cons

To be honest the only bad thing I can say was that I hate that I had to leave. I didn't want to let that job go. It was an awesome job and had room to move u! However I was pregnant with my first born and decide to stay home with her!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the amazing work! Y'all are an awesome group of woman and very caring as well!

I worked at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay for the area, working with GI doctors is excellent

    Cons

Hospital's reputation locally was dour. I never did figure that out but folks in the area spoke of it as "even if I am dying, don't take me there." Our department was highly competent. Attrition in management and hiring within people who were unqualified.

    Advice to Management

Don't depend on hiring within as the rule. It's "nice and easy" to transition someone from within but it is small hospital with limited pool of candidates. Vet new supervisors for their skills in management not seniority.

    Pros

This is a good place to work. The people are very nice, everyone works as a team. The benefits offered are good and would compete well with any others in the area.

    Cons

Employee parking is very minimal, and far from the entrance to the hospital.

I have been working at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the people you work with are friendly and helpful. Most of the Doctors are pleasant. And , our current unit manager has made many positive improvements to the unit.

    Cons

Low pay. No bonuses given. Time to rotate upper management out to another hospital and bring in fresh minds open to new ideas. To much of the "GOOD O BOY" mentality.

    Advice to Management

In order to stop losing good employees, and stop the high turn over, you are going to have to pay better and give real raises.

I have been working at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Smaller hospital with a family feel. Departments work well together. It is nice to have the ability to know so many of the employees form other departments by name. There is a strong sense of pride and camaraderie. The management is approachable and helpful. Overall a very positive and friendly environment to work.

    Cons

Seems like improvement and change is difficult to implement. Not sure if it is because the parent company if for-profit, or if it is the same way everywhere. It can be frustrating to want to do the best job you can and not have the equipment or supplies on hand that you need.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees suggestions for improvement. In the end the initial cost of implementing a new program or supplying new equipment will benefit not only employee satisfaction, but patient satisfaction as well.
