    Pros

-Unique community experience with senior population and growth of younger families in surrounding zips
    - Work culture is very team and family oriented. Everyone helps onboard you.
-Community hospital feel with large system support
-Leadership is very involved in supporting teams and is proactive
-New patient tower and service additions support growth needs in growing part of Hillsborough County
-Excellent benefits and stock earning potential.
-Mentoring environment with open door policies.
-Very good bent toward work/life balance needs. Flexible.

    Cons

-Smaller facility that can sometimes lose team members to growth potential within system, but it's really not a con when you can learn and grow if that is the career path you need. Also long time employees who are loyal offset this turnover.

    Advice to Management

-Continue to maintain the supportive and positive culture of this hidden gem.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at South Bay Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tight group. Few number of providers makes it easy to get to know them. Polite, never felt disrespected.

    Cons

Work load at times was overwhelming. At times 8 patients to 1 nurse. However, work flow changes are improving these numbers.

    Advice to Management

Continue changes to modernize and implement current/latest medical practices.

I worked at South Bay Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Was a great place to work...Small hospital made it family oriented...Co workers played team work...loved working for southbay until the wrong ppl were hired and administration made it a not so entising place to work...

    Cons

Staff is over worked...not safe for patients nor employees...employees forced to take more call than usual because of not enough staff!

    Advice to Management

Hire competent professionals that will become an asset to the facility and pick up the workload for those employees who are over worked...Make Southbay what it use to be 10 years ago!

    Pros

Balance of personal life and work is fair and I like the people I work with. The majority of our patients are elderly and the job is challenging, but rewarding.

    Cons

Heavy assignments wtih high patient acuity. Inability to take adequate lunch breaks. Many times there are missing medications, which causes delay in medication delivery to the patients.

    Advice to Management

Improve on availablity of supplies and equipment to help nurses manage time, instead of wasting time hunting for supplies.
