RecommendsPositive OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for more than a year
Pros
Great Benefits! Including many paid holidays, a great deal of annual leave and sick leave. Great place to earn some experience in the Environmental Field.
Cons
The pay is really the only pay. No room for advancement unless someone leaves or retires. Many positions that do become available are typically for a chosen candidate.

13 holidays off a year, Benefits, work/life balance
Cons
Non competitive pay, working during major storms with no pay only comp time, not a lot of opportunity for advancement. People who never worked a program make unrealistic decisions and changes without asking the employees who actually work it. High turnover across the board.

Doesn't RecommendI have been working at South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control
Pros
You have a lot of holidays. You accumulate vacation days and sick days. It's never a problem taking off for family or personal matters.
Cons
There are very few positions that would not be considered a dead-end job. There are no pay increases. Everyone gets the same rating no matter if the employee works his tale off or if he hides in his office all day.
