I have been working at South Florida Water Management District full-time

        Pros

There's a fairly flexible schedule, decent benefits, and a sense of pride as a civil servant. Many opportunities to advance within the agency.

        Cons

The salary is low compared to the private sector. Rules and policies are constantly changing based on political pressures. Recent streamlining efforts have increased the workload without any substantial increases in pay.

        Advice to Management

Working at the District can be great, but lately it feels like management has been treating the employees like inanimate data. Metrics should not be the sole measure of success.
