    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at South San Francisco USD full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    1) Many good, hardworking sp ed teachers who care about their students. 2) Educational Services are not supportive when it comes to buying programs, curriculum, etc. 3) Students in general are good kids who are really looking to connect and are very grateful when given attention by adults. 4) Parent participation/involvement depends on the school. Some schools have very involved PTAs, in other schools parent participation...

    Cons

    1) The majority of the principals are awful. Just one or two truly are up to the task. 2) District Office administrators could care less what is going on in the schools. Majority of employees are not happy. 3) A lot of turnover. No sense of stability.

    Advice to Management

    1) Treat employees with respect. Since you don't, many decide to leave. 2) Hire people for special education administrative jobs who know what they are doing, not a friend or a friend of a friend. 3) Don't advertise that you are "transparent" district when that is the last thing it is.

  5. "No carry through"

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Teacher

I worked at South San Francisco USD full-time

    Pros

Some schools are run correctly, though only several.

    Cons

Lousy HR department - the new employee does all of the paperwork to be hired. Lousy Principals, have no clue how to do the job of teaching or supporting either certified or classified.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that Paula Campbell does not get assigned the job to complete the paperwork for new employees, as she doesn't do the work and the employee ends up having to do all of the work, in order to begin the school year.
