I worked at South Shore Hospital (Weymouth) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Close to home, some people were nice, patients were great and appreciative, parking was convenient, learned from the pleasant staff.

    Cons

From the moment I started it’s been a nightmare. Yelling at the nursing station with staff, nepotism, hostility. You are continuously walking on egg shells around this place with “management.” I think there are too many cooks in the kitchen. They have too many titles for people who are under qualified and overpaid. I was told to do many unethical things and you could never tell anyone because they don’t listen or they are all friends. When I left, the moral was at an all- time low. The doctors are nasty to employees and are trying to be a Boston hospital, but in Weymouth. Oh and I came in with loved ones as patient’s, it was embarrassing and I was ashamed to work there, that says it all.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes, I read other reviews on here and they are all the same and it begins with you ! I think a lot of management forgets we are not in it for the numbers and the colorful charts, we are there for the patients! Caring for the public during the worst times in their lives!

I worked at South Shore Hospital (Weymouth) full-time

    Pros

Close to home, worked with some nice people

    Cons

It was like being in high school. The Manager let the Team Lead do whatever they wanted including: belittling people, harassing people. I had seen many of my co-workers crying because of this person, and when it was brought to Manager’s attention she stated “I know she’s hard but she was worse” SERIOUSLY!?!?! How is that OK? HR did nothing, extremely clicky, sneaky people the department. Favoritism is out of control if you aren’t “IN” then you are out! I am so happy I left this place, I still check in on my former co-workers and it seems like nothing has changed. Oh and god forbid you needed to do anything for your family life etc, they will deny you ET.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites, if you are good to your employees they will do anything for you.

    Cons

Management is very in personable, hard to get time off, never get to use PTO even when you have it unless they want you to use it, pay is not great
