    I have been working at South State full-time (More than a year)

    It's ok very easy to move up

    Some are lazy but hey what can you do

    Going through change all the time.

    Cons

    Kept an employee that was a completely useless leader.

    Advice to Management

    get rid of him.

    Pros

    This is a solid place to start if you are looking into banking as a career. There is a good training program and they do not push the sales culture.

    Cons

    The pay is pitiful. While this place is good to get the fundamentals down, it is hard to move up, especially if you are young and new to banking.

    Pros

    -Opportunity for rapid advancement within the company.
    -Managers were pleasant and did whatever was possible to give you a good life/work balance.

    Cons

    -Pay was terrible, when responsibility due to promotions increased, wage did not increase with it.
    -Expected to be content with only being able to add to your resume, not your paycheck.

    Very focused on growth opportunities. Coworkers were great and highly motivated.

    Limited to just regional area, so inwardly focused.

    Pros

    this is a company that really stands behind their employees with plenty of opportunity for growth within the company. They do training courses every month to give all employees a chance to learn a new trait.

    Cons

    If you can't stand to work with the same people everyday then this isn't the job for you.

    Good hours, nice benefits package, paid holidays

    Cons

    Banks are notorious for underpaying their employees and instead providing them with lots of titles. South State is no different.

    Pros

    Don't know of any specific pro. Was told there would be opportunity for continued employment but no one rehired in Old only high mgt retained positions. Were not honest with us.

    Cons

    Limited room for advancement in Operations. Told one thing they did another. Allowed us to prepare to interview but had no intention to hire.

    Advice to Management

    Look at what your existing employees have to offer prior to hiring outside of co . Take time to know who is working for you.
