I have been working at SouthBridge EMS full-time

    Pros

Pay is good, above average. Health benefits are outstanding, especially for an EMS job. Company covers employees and dependents. There are opportunities to take on additional duties, especially in mentoring new hires. Training program is very thorough. Rigs and equipment are better than you will see at most services. Heavy emphasis on patient care, safety and customer service. Bunks provided for overnight shifts. Minimal posting of units. Southbridge tries to take care of their employees and generally has a good work environment.

    Cons

Satellite station where crews are stationed is small but is central to response area

    Advice to Management

The management at this service has a great deal of field experience and still spend a good bit of time in the field. The upper management has been in place for 20+ years. Not currently a service where one could move quickly up the ladder, but there is always potential for expansion.

I have been working at SouthBridge EMS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the highest starting wages for paramedics in the Greater Pittsburgh Region. High quality equipment and vehicles. Many opportunities for part-time/casual employees to work flexible schedules. 12 hour shifts with a rotating schedule.

    Cons

"All in the family" management. Occasionally the simpler needs of employees and stations can go unmet for a while.
