I worked at Southeast Georgia Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I don't have anything good to say about this hospital except it's near St Simons Island. I would not recommend anyone to work at this hospital!!!

    Cons

Terrible place to work, poor poor management and poorly run respiratory department. Would not recommend anyone to work in this Department

I worked at Southeast Georgia Health System (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Had some great coworkers, nice location and good doctors to work with. Will match a certain percentage on retirement. Retirement representive to guide you

    Cons

Poor management-no help to any employees, health insurance extremely expensive for part time employees-very unaffordable. Not enough education classes.

    Advice to Management

Need better management teams that will jump in and help employees when it gets super busy. It's very stressful when you have no support from management.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Southeast Georgia Health System full-time

    Pros

    Pleasant hospital environment and facilities

    Cons

Parking access to building. Specific unit in disarray. Unit manager that I interviewed with only few weeks prior to going on unit, was terminated the week I got on unit. During orientation on unit, my pt assignments would be switched several times in one day.

    Advice to Management

Too many chiefs, not enough Indians.

I have been working at Southeast Georgia Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staff you work with, the 12 hour shifts, the $$$

    Cons

Short on staff...ALWAYS..., Nurse manager is a stickler, You never know up-to-date policies...etc

    Advice to Management

Get a better staff on hand, and stick to your word

  10. "Exempt Employees"

    Pros

Wonderful community and facility. Many committed employees. New CEO will hopefully address longstanding issues and concerns of the workforce.

    Cons

Salaried employees were expected and required to be available 24/7, without additional compensation, but we were required to use our accrued paid time off in 4 hour blocks when not working. And we were frequently contacted about work related things while taking personal time off, again while being required to use paid time off. Asked about comp time and was told it's at the discretion of Vice Presidents and if allowed, can only be a rare exception.

    Advice to Management

Consult other organizations and labor specialists about the way salaried employee are treated and evaluate all other human resource policies and practices.
