I have been working at Southeastern Regional Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a job. It's a check. My immediate supervisor is nice.

    Cons

Can you say toxic environment? Drama (which I understand is going to be everywhere you work) taken to a new level. Very cutthroat. High turnover rate. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. If you're going to supervise a bunch of people, you at least need to know how to DO the job. Quit micromanaging. If the rules don't apply to one person, then why are there any rules at all?

I have been working at Southeastern Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The staff is very friendly and helpful and the patients/family members are sweet. My manager works with my schedule really well and I have been able to further my education because of this.

    Cons

We just received a new computer system and that was a challenge to get familiar with. Occasionally, we are under staffed and it makes for a long 12 hour shift.

I worked at Southeastern Regional Medical Center (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I loved my job at SRMC. The nurses I worked with were all amazing and the Doctors were wonderful as well. I worked third shift while attending school full time. I was offered overtime several times from other floors that were short handed. They would call me to see if I wanted to work when I was off.

    Cons

I got sick a lot even when I went overboard on washing my hands and wearing masks around people that I didn't even need to wear a mask around.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! I miss SRMC.

I worked at Southeastern Regional Medical Center full-time

    Pros

SRMC was a great place to work. I was employed there for almost 16 years, straight out of nursing school. Great salary, great benefits. Friendly staff that treated you like family. Physicians easy to approach.

    Cons

As with most other facilities---inadequate staffing

    Advice to Management

    Improve nurse-to-pt ratios
