I have been working at Southern Foodservice Management full-time

    Pros

The job is a very okay job, hours are good, hours are also flexible! I really enjoy working here.

    Cons

The only downside to the company is that it's not enough pay for the amount of work you have to do. Also it's no advancement within the company.

    Advice to Management

The job just needs more advancement. I have been working here for years and still haven't advanced in the company.

    Pros

Hours are good and boss is great.

    Cons

Not enough pay for the work performance that you do

    Advice to Management

25 cent an hour a year is not enough to live on. That is your raise for a year.

I worked at Southern Foodservice Management full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

None if you work under the wrong regional manager. Okay benefits. Okay salary IF your regional manager recognizes your value. Don't count on that.

    Cons

Unqualified at regional level. Out of touch at corporate level. Will sweep properly documented and reported issues under the rug.

    Advice to Management

    No advice is deserved.

    Pros

    The food. The work schedule.

    Cons

A good place to work for but they have Micro-Managing, Nitpicking bosses who don't have a heart or people/leadership skills. So if you can get past that & the low pay that is meant for teenagers 1st job you're ok.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to push without being pushy. To have a Dream Team you need a Dream Coach.

I worked at Southern Foodservice Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nuclear fridays which is Monday through Thursday. The customers are great and very appreciative.

    Cons

No training what so ever. Voices raised at me for asking questions. I dealt with hearing the N word on a daily basis, not directed at me, but at our customers. When I was finally fed up I put in my 2 week notice. Unfortunately it was heard by a customer and was escalated to site services and I was fired. Employees would touch food without gloves. Bugs were an issue and it were ignored until site services complained.

    Advice to Management

When u get a new contract, don't just automatically keep the workers already there. See what type of people they are and if the customers are satisfied with them. Don't ignore employee complaints and have the decency to not fire people to save your own skin.

    Pros

None really. Southern Foodservice is maybe the laid back job that you are ever going to get. It's easy as well.

    Cons

I wish the job could offer better pay to employees, breaks to the employees, opportunity for in house advancement, etc. company is so unfair.

    Advice to Management

I advise the management to work harder to keep employees happy. Especially long term employees. Offer better pay, and room to move up. Otherwise turn over is going to stay high.
