I worked at Southern Health Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job can be entertaining. You get to use your schooling, which isn't common place at other LPN jobs.

    Cons

The company, harassment, abuse, lack of pay, lack of benefits, lack of training, lack of support. The lies, unbelievably high turnover rate, nonexistent raises, and ability to move up is determined on skills in brown nosing. The bottom of the bowl nurses who can't make it at any other job. The threats and difficulty in improving the work environment.

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees better, stop lying and threatening those who try to improve work ethics, morals, and environment. Stop bouncing incompetent nurses to different jails, making it harder on the other nurses.

I have been working at Southern Health Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The environment I work in is very pleasant and the staff is great.

    Cons

The pay is very low for LPNs, I believe it's the lowest in this area, even if you have years of experience. They pay you the same rate as inexperienced nurses & they don't offer shift differential or weekend differential pay.

    Advice to Management

Increase your pay rate for nurses and have a pay scale based on years of experience in the nursing field.

I have been working at Southern Health Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Your co workers are about the only Pros to this company. Since we're short staffed most always it's our co workers who really help out when they can.

    Cons

Zero support from corporate (immediate management is supportive). I have witnessed this company getting rid of good employees for no good reason. They do not support the staffs needs, nor do they pay well. They only care about their contracts with the jails and will get rid of people in a heartbeat without notice just to save face with their contractors. You will be overworked and under paid without a doubt. We've lost some good nurses lately and it's not getting any better.

    Advice to Management

This is for corporate not immediate management. Pay your nurses what they are worth. Everyone is paid differently. Be supportive and perhaps when you come for site visits you can actually speak to all of the employees, not just your "favorites." Spend less time kissing the jail staffs butts and talk to your employees. This is by far one of the worst companies I've ever worked for. I'm not sure if it's because it's ran by primarily all women or what? Thank goodness I'm almost out of there. Good rides SHP! If I could give less stars I would!
