I worked at Southern New Hampshire Health System full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that I worked closest with on a daily basis, and the patients were the best part of working there.

    Cons

Management has got to be the most unfair that I have ever worked under. Staff meetings are done in a way where minutes are handed out precopied, and no one is really allowed to voice an opinion or speak except for provider's and the manager. IF there are problems, the providers are constantly on the phone messaging the manager about it instead of coming to the MA's and just addressing the little problems, that now cause the MA's to get brought into the managers office and reprimanded for silly things that never should have gone to that level. I have never worked in such a hostile environment, where I felt my job was constantly on the line.

    Advice to Management

Start over from scratch. Take a look at how other companies are working to keep their employees happy to go to their job. Keep it fair. The provider is not above all.

I have been working at Southern New Hampshire Health System part-time

    Pros

Great, friendly environment. Coworkers are like family.

    Cons

Not very clean, no room for growth, poor pay with no increase.

    Advice to Management

Start cracking down on differentiating between who pulls their weight and who doesn't. Some people just show up for the paycheck.

I have been working at Southern New Hampshire Health System full-time

    Pros

There was good teamwork on some shifts. Many employees worked there for a very long time. Good lower management

    Cons

They did not pay well and only gave 1-2 percent wage increases most years. Minimal acknowledgement for going above and beyond in patient care.

    Advice to Management

Take action against employees that constantly abuse the system. I felt like some employees got away with murder.

    Pros

Helped motivate me and made me clearly understand what kind of management team I did NOT want to work for.

    Cons

During interview and first few months, I was excited about working at SNHHS. As time went by it was very clear the right hand hand no idea what the left hand was doing. In addition, (my) department leaders proved to be untrustworthy. Rules are not consistent, not within departments nor within the HS itself.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent, be honest, be fair.

    Pros

Great manager in my department that works with your needs
    Magnet status
    Supportive of continued education
    Affiliated with MGH

    Cons

Small community hospital with a lot of the same patient clusters
Low level trauma center- quite a few transfers out to larger hospitals
Ungodly high priced insurance that isn't that good

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Nothing negative to say.
