    Pros

Company is trying to improve areas where where there are problems. New CEO recently appointed, so shake-up likely in some areas that need improvement. Opportunities for good people to make their mark and progress. Interesting and varied work, providing a vital service to local community and environment. Pay and benefits are competitive.

    Cons

IT has been a mess for a long time, and planned upgrades are long overdue.
Some of the senior management team are ineffective and do not support their staff enough. Culture of promoting "yes-men" in some directorates rather than the most capable managers.

    Advice to Management

Better engagement needed between directors and staff. Many reporting systems are a mess, which means that senior management often get poor information on which to base decisions. Trust your staff more.
