    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Southwest Minnesota State University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great students. Some wonderful young faculty. Many friendly people. Nice rural community.

    Cons

So many terrific newcomers leave because of very weird faculty politics. Have seen great young teachers really abused by bitter older faculty members.

    Advice to Management

Too much power in the hands of professors who are burned out and hateful. Admin needs to do more to protect newcomers from being sabotaged. If a teacher is recommended by a dean and by students but not by his dept. then that dept. might be screwy.
