I worked at Southwest Washington Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great staff & team building skills. Organization was always spot on and there was no political drama. I feel blessed to have worked there, in two different positions, two different occasions and would always go back for more!

    Cons

Parking wasn't fun; lots of overtime if you can handle it.

    Advice to Management

The ED & Urgent Care departments are the best team oriented places I've ever seen. Bravo!

I worked at Southwest Washington Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The front line staff really care about the patients and community. Pay for some positions is competitive in the market. Decent location for commuting purposes.

    Cons

Senior management is very ineffective, and most directors and mid-level managers are not qualified for their positions. IT systems are a joke, and literally endanger patient safety. Nepotism is rampant, and backstabbing is common. Everything is done "on the cheap" so beware (no employee raises, no training, ancient IT equipment). Run, run as fast as you can.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully a merger with another healthcare organization will right the ship and show current management the door.
