I have been working at Southwestern Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Its privately held and the owner and upper management really care about their team. They provide great benefits and competitive salaries.

    Cons

I honestly have no cons to working for this company. Work is work and I think people forget that when they are evaluating their employer. No one wants to spend their life "working" but its part of the requirements for life. As far as a job goes this place is great.

I worked at Southwestern Industries full-time

    Pros

    -Nice people

    -Good work environment

-Interesting break schedule that allows 2 weeks off at Xmas.

    -Very professional

    Cons

-Most raises for office workers if they are given are just barely enough to keep up with inflation.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up, but possibly consider more generous raises.

I worked at Southwestern Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

SWI was one of those low demanding, low work, stick to the rule book kind of job. Upper Management had a saying in their closed door meetings. Keep the employees replaceable. Which can be a plus and a con.
We were closed during Christmas and had a 100% 401K match program

    Cons

    No room for growth
Impossible to convince the old management a better way of doing things
Low pay - again the idea is everyone on the low tier should be replaceable
    Poor training
No responsibility, some people showed up to work drunk and it was allowed

    Advice to Management

I believe the president retired and the VP has now taken his place. He must work to get young blood in and replace some of the dinosaurs. Allow new ideas and new ways of thinking help the company grow.

I have been working at Southwestern Industries full-time

    Pros

This is truly a good place. Company will train you and invest time in you. Many people work here for decades. No drama, no conflicts, no fights. Everyone's nice. It's unique.

    Cons

Cons? Well, there are issues everywhere, but here you got to have a microscope to criticize.
So no cons. At least not yet.

    Advice to Management

Well, there are many views that could be shared with management, but interestingly - the owner is always here, and there are no problems passing on the advice personally. I do that. Communication works here. No need to go beyond that.
