I worked at Sovereign Bancorp full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I previously worked for Sovereign Bank in the Auto Finance Division as a Collection Specialist. Through the many years employed there, we were all like family and helped each other.

    Cons

When Santander purchased Sovereign Bank, they shut down the Auto Finance Division and laid off 100s of employees.

Change provides opportunity but can be hard for the old timers.

    Pros

    Good work atmosphere.
A referral minimum is required, however, it is a more relaxed environment in which active salesmanship is not needed.

    Cons

It is not as widely recognized in the city of philadelphia like citizens bank or Pnc bank. Undergoing a merger.

    Advice to Management

A stronger recruitment of college educated trainees and new hires, and recognition and promotion of these individuals already encompassed in the company.
