I have been working at Space Coast Credit Union (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good Benefits:
    Health insurance
    401K
You get banker experience without any requirements

    Cons

    No growth
You do teller and banker work and get pay as a teller

    Advice to Management

Focus on people potential and not their time with the company.

I worked at Space Coast Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some very nice people working in some departments.
Good experience to have on your resume for your next job.
    The benefits are good.

    Cons

    Extremely high turnover.
    Horrible communication between departments.
    Back-stabbing between departments.
Dress code is almost 20 pages long and no exceptions to it.
People are promoted for who they know, not for their skills or being good at their job.
Cult like job culture, people get fired for having an honest opinion.

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on the wrong things such as dress code. Let people have an opinion. Start actually caring about why so many people leave and you might keep more employees.

I worked at Space Coast Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers, and decent work-life balance. Sales goals are attainable, and you're given off the standard bank holidays and some vacation time.

    Cons

Very low pay for a lot of tedious tasks as well as doing the jobs of both a teller and a banker. Sales incentives are terrible. Management in the branch can be pretty bad, even as far as firing a coworker of mine for a minor error when they were up for promotion outside of the branch. You feel trapped if they don't want you moving up.

I worked at Space Coast Credit Union full-time

    Pros

Good Pay and Great Benefits. Very nice CEO

    Cons

Employees are known for looking at co-workers accounts and past due accounts and spreading their personal business. Management is way under qualified. The Credit Union is known for shady business practices. This place needs a IRS Audit!!! People have resigned fear of the Credit Union being sued. Lots of gossipy employees who gossip with management. Extremely hostile work environment in most departments. Employees are having sex in bathrooms after hours. Do not step foot into this place.

    Advice to Management

Most of you should be fired for turning a blind eye and for being so unprofessiona!

No "big bank bureaucracy." Great client focus environment, motivated management, and lots of growth opportunities.

    Cons

Not a lot of branches available, some employees had to drive long distance to work

    Pros

    Benefits
    Paid time off required
    Decent pay
    Good sales incentives
    Promotions within preferred over others
    Managers tend to be nice

    Cons

    Very little uniformity between branches
Pay raises tend to be lower than told
    Hard to get in
Managers can "choose" a promotion candidate before seeing all others

    Advice to Management

Collaborate and focus to get on the same page for all branches

    Pros

A lot of friendly managers that mean well

    Cons

CFO is new so OT is no longer offered. Now that money has been spent on buildings and new core systems, employee pay and budgets are cut drastically.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your staff and keep morale a priority.

I worked at Space Coast Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are two locations in Miramar and Melbourne office and they are located right off I-75 and I-95 respectively, which is convenient for commute. Co-workers are great to work with (outside of management).

    Cons

Management is horrible, clueless, and very condescending. Extremely long hours, lots of micromanagement, high goals, consistently hounded for production. There is way too much turnover because you get "burned out" very fast. Human Resources does not protect its employees from constant harassment from management and you WILL be fired if you voice your disliked about the environment. DO NOT work here if you care about having a good work-life balance, not having unnecessary excess stress, or if you care about having a career.

    Advice to Management

You have WAY too much turnover for a reason. You have lost too many great Loan Officers and leaders because you have the wrong management and philosophy in place. You are no longer going to be able to recruit talent because the word is out on Space Coast and the talent that you have will continue to leave if you do not change your ways ASAP.
