Pros
A fantastic environment for the people looking for a start-up environment to quickly learn and quickly apply new skills. Fairly technically-knowledgeable upper management. Lots of employee perks (frozen yogurt, dinners, etc.)

Everything revolves around launches, and sometimes your social life needs to fit that schedule as well.

Pros
- SpaceX is very good about perks that Elon enjoys. Free coffee, frozen yogurt, cheap food, etc. - Stock options for those of us that started years ago is very nice. For new employees, I wish you the best. - Culture and employees are amazing. You will make lifelong contacts. - The product and company stays innovative. You will grow your career quicker than most places. - It is always interesting. Never a dull day.
Cons
- The management landscape is a minefield. - Long hours with minimal compensation. Great for a new college graduate, terrible for an established career. - No empathy. Unrealistic schedules driven by insane expectations leading to high turnover and lack of emotion.
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Here's my list of reasons why SpaceX is an amazing place to work - You get to work on things that directly impact the mission. - The company goal is to advance space technology and enable people to live on other planets, it's right on the site - Everyone is brilliant, driven, and will be the best people you've ever worked with. - The work is challenging and there are literally endless opportunities if you want to put in the time. - Management is awesome, they work hard and are easy to work with. - You get to watch rocket launches and all sorts of other crazy stuff from mission control. - SpaceX employees are highly sought after, but you wont want to leave - You get to walk around a rocket factory and see rockets being built. - Great food options like cafeteria style, salad bar, restaurant style and 4+ food trucks. Also free frozen yogurt and the food is all subsidized, so you're only paying $3-5 per meal. - There are flown rocket parts all over the office. - The first landed orbital rocket is in front of the building - You can give friends and family tours of the factory.
Cons
Los Angeles is an extremely expensive place to live compared to the rest of the country.

Pros
You get to build rockets. On-site food, medical, dental, coffee, store, and frozen yogurt. You get to tell people you work for SpaceX and that Elon Musk is your boss.
Cons
Yes, you get to build rockets but when the novelty wears off, the realization of the horrible work environment it is can be too much to bear for some. Underpaid, overqualified, and overworked. Extremely political and slow paced from a production standpoint. If you think you may be overqualified, you're probably right. The expectations or any sort of career roadmap of workers are non-existent. I've dealt with more drama at SpaceX than I did on the playground in 5th grade. The dishonesty amongst management and team members is ridiculous. Most employees have little to no integrity. Countless times I have heard the phrase, "You better look busy for the cameras." Then again, I suppose you should expect that in Hollywood. But if you do decide it's not for you and quit, don't worry some other poor sap will gladly fill your place with the same false hope you once had when you began. The cycle will continue, about every 6 months, because that's the average turnover rate.

Pros
Culture - SpaceX has a great "start-up" environment. It's definitely a plus to work steps away from the manufacturing process and development of our rockets & spacecrafts Benefits - Fantastic health benefits (SpaceX covers the premium for medical, dental, vision). Onsite health & dental clinic too! 3 weeks of paid vacation! Perks - Free coffee, teas, sodas, cookies, frozen yogurt, fruit any time of day! Several different food options (food trucks, pizza truck, various restaurants/cafes). Free Gym Memberships (Onsite gym)! And more! Project Scope - Leadership guides you to be successful by building you up to speed and allow you to handle/own projects & overall work scope. Growth - We have an ideal place for growth. If you have the motivation & determination for development and willingness to learn on a technical level, SpaceX is the place! Passion for making things possible - You're working with rockets & spacecraft - These are some of the coolest things on the planet!
Cons
Traffic in/around the city of Los Angeles
