    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Spade Technology full-time

    Pros

Spade is an excellent place to work. Upper management is very transparent with employees about upcoming projects, changes, goals, and progress. The culture is very team oriented, and everyone is very friendly. Overall it is a great group of people to work with each day, and Spade is an employer that I do recommend to others regularly.

    Cons

Parking stickers are required for all cars. Since the office is located across from the Xfinity Center, building management wants all cars to have a parking sticker to ensure parking isn't used by concert attendees. These stickers are provided by the company at no cost to the employee.

I worked at Spade Technology full-time

    Pros

there is work/life balance and some nice coworkers

    Cons

owner oftens gives unrealistic expectations and refuses to backfill open positions while the work piles up. also, the benefits are super expensive. also took over a year to get running water in the kitchen area, just one example of the cheapness and cash flow problems

    Advice to Management

    Spade Technology Response

    November 14, 2017HR Manager/Senior Recruiter

It is always disappointing to receive a negative review. As a company, we work extremely hard to take good care of our employees and create a positive work environment. We take all feedback very seriously, and will follow up on every review to make sure Spade is continuously improving. ...

I have been working at Spade Technology

    Pros

Fast-paced and challenging environment where you can acquire a wealth of experience / knowledge in a short amount of time. Employees sincerely care about doing what's right for clients.

    Cons

Benefits are ok and about what is expected of a small company. Aside from that, not much else to comment on.

I have been working at Spade Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Spade is already a great place but Management is always looking to improve. Nothing is sacred. If it doesn't work, movement to fix it is initiated immediately. If you're inexperienced, you will learn a lot. Everyone is eager to help each other learn. If you're experienced, you will learn a lot. Management is very focused on developing employees. Communication is open at all levels. The owner keeps his employees...

    Cons

Clients realize the value we're adding to their company and as a result, Spade is growing fast. If you're looking for a laid back job, this isn't the place for you. It's fast paced and moving forward. If you're not ready to keep pace you won't make it here.

    Advice to Management

Snacks! Who doesn't like snacks? It would be great to get up and grab a small snack that would help maintain our energy. (I had to put something here)

I have been working at Spade Technology full-time

    Pros

I left a large corporation to join the Spade Team and I am 100% thrilled with my decision. After reading a previous review on GlassDoor, I did have concerns, but decided to take the leap. IT has been the best decision I could have made. Spade is a great company that supports/appreciates it's employees. Everyone is extremely welcoming the environment is one of support and encouragement. Everyone is extremely open-minded...

    Cons

As a smaller company, the healthcare is more expensive than working for a large corporation, but still affordable. I think for a smaller company, we do have a good overall benefits package.

I worked at Spade Technology full-time for more than a year

    Pros

good experience for beginner, it's close if you live nearby?it's a bright, sunny office? Lol, I'm stretching for stuff here

    Cons

completely overwhelming pace, devious and manipulative owner, 30k starting salary, health ins. is sky high, you get paged when on call at all sorts of hours. Highest employee turn over in the area, management has contempt for employees

    Advice to Management

Stop taking advantage of your "resources" (human employees). Pay your employees better, you don't need that new fancy car when your employees are just barely scraping by.

I worked at Spade Technology full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you're inexperienced but not lazy, you will flourish and learn a great deal about the IT industry very rapidly*(see cons) It's a very small company so as long as you're not lazy, your responsibilities will rapidly expand**(see cons) The company itself is expanding as they have found an ambitious growth plan and have designed a support plan most small companies can agree with, some of those companies stay once they...
