    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Spark New Zealand full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great modern buildings and like a lot of workplaces, some great people and benefits

    Cons

Constant restructuring with no stability. It has lead to disarray, lack of vision and has failure to understand market direction. It total lacks culture, unless it's brown-nosing to clueless managers. Right now, in an effort to improve its bottom line, it's culling staff, having determined the organisation must be lean and agile. Not to mention look good to shareholders for FY Results. Pity the customers and lack of service they put up with.

    Advice to Management

Advice to the shareholders and board of directors. Fire the current management, CEO to GM level, if you every want to see the company transform return a good profit and have any large corporate or government clients.

    Cons

Company moves really slowly. Spark always steps up and make investment to wonderful things with wrong people.

    Advice to Management

You need aggressive marketing strategy to really turn things around.

I worked at Spark New Zealand full-time

    Pros

    Modern office place. Central location.

    Cons

Highly competitive. Poor management. Non collaborative. Zero empathy for customer centric product design. Nepotism and pack mentality. Management hiring personal friends who produce poor work and poor value for money and over-charging. Suppliers producing half baked work, suppliers dictating deadlines, using internal friendships to produce mediocre work and justify poor work turnarounds. Job description quite different to reality. Lots of bullying and backstabbing in Spark. Although pushing Digital, hire inexperienced grads and have a culture completely in contrast to customer centric the and workplace collaboration.

    Advice to Management

Make sure developers with zero people skills aren't designing customer centric products. Make sure employees aren't using there length of employment to bully and justify terrible work ethic and deliberate unhelpfulness.

I worked at Spark New Zealand full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great benefits package
    - Awesome offices
    - Company is heading in an exciting direction
    - Good company culture

    Cons

    - At the time, too few seniors to learn from. Understandable with the amount of new work coming in. I think this is not the case now.

I worked at Spark New Zealand (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked for the Power & Building Services Team - brilliant people and very knowledgeable. They have a long-term vision for the PBS asset portfolio, and are laying the foundations for SMART information-driven and risk-based decision-making.

    Cons

I found there to be no drawbacks to working for the PBS Team.

    Advice to Management

Continue with the long-term vision for the PBS asset portfolio, and focus on (1) Asset Life Cycle Strategies, (2) Economic Optimisation, and (3) strategy-based Project Prioritisation.

I have been working at Spark New Zealand full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Well paced for a large organization; good investment portfolio in terms of technology and resources; lots of opportunity to improve offering and quality

    Cons

Political influence and structure degrade overall performance and quality of offering; employees that are manager pleasers accept everything without thought to quality of deliverable

    Advice to Management

Invest more in delivery and quality by focusing on end user rather than approvals and process for the sake of it; being agile does not mean delivering to everyone's expectations and incorporating changes without impacting timelines; it takes 9 months to deliver a baby, more men can't get the job done quicker!

    Cons

no appreciation in hard work just thank you and so any bonus and this will kill hard worker passion.

    Advice to Management

please realize when somebody insanely help company reputation, instead of say thank you only, do something in return
