    Pros

The pros are that the Doctors and staff are exceptional in both knowledge and personality.

    Cons

Cons are that the company does not care about its employees in any way. This starts from day one of orientation. I was always fighting administration to keep my orientees from having to take patients on their own before they were suppose to. The staffing is dismal. The occasional days that we were fully staffed administration would pull one of our nurses. It was a scary place to work, I felt like my nursing license was on the line every time I walked in the door. I'm not saying that the other hospital in town is any better. My concerns are a systematic issue in this area. I have worked in other geographic locations and the nursing environment was great.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. Your hospital will never make it and you will continue to change hands every couple of years without employees that like their jobs.

I worked at Sparks Health System (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the staff at Sparks are dedicated. The care about the people they take care of and others that work with them.

    Cons

Corporate healthcare is hard to work for due to the constant change in direction and trying to squeeze every penny out of their revenue.

    Advice to Management

I am not sure what could help. Learn your staffs pain of working for you and why they feel that they could lose their job at any moment. Also, look at your pay structure. Are you paying EVS staff the same a Tech that went through school to be certified?

I have been working at Sparks Health System full-time

    Pros

Geographic Location. Some very good people. Nice facilities.

    Cons

Various management areas do not have individuals that appear to be adequately trained for their department. This is particularly true in the HR Department. While the value of cheerleading to the the company could be beneficial to the organization someone needs to take care of the human resource related needs of the company and the employees.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you have the right people in the right positions.

    Pros

The environment is grade A and the work place is a pleasure to see everyday.

New management is still trying to get a foot hold on their way and the old way. Not necessarily just different.

    Pros

A lot of good long term experienced and caring employees still remain.
    Financial support from corporate ownership.
    Some excellent supervisors.

    Cons

Local management and top leadership do not show true authentic leadership. Seems to create a picture to employees of a culture that it does not support in action.
Doesn't seem to care for the employees.
    Lots and lots of layoffs.
    Low pay.

    Advice to Management

You need to truly start appreciating your employees as they are wait will make you.

    Pros

Employee ideas and suggestions are important to all levels of management. Time and resources and invested in employees.

    Cons

Very corporate driven. Seems to be little room for change at a local level.

    Advice to Management

Give more freedom to upper management.
