I have been working at Special Counsel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture. Management bends over backwards to help us succeed. Tons of incentives offered to help employees stay motivated and engaged. I have never been so happy to go to work and feel more invested than ever in the company I work for.

    Cons

If you want to be miserable at work and aren't a happy person-- DON'T APPLY. We have fun at work!

    Advice to Management

We appreciate everything you do for us- Thank you!

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

They work for the Employer, not for the Employee. They try to low-ball the salaries offered to make the Employer happy and use manipulation techniques to accomplish this.

I have been working at Special Counsel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule; positive work environment; interesting & face-paced work; encouraging managers and higher-ups; competitive salary; performance incentives; you're recognized for hard work! Management truly cares about their employees professionally and personally.

    Cons

If you want to just work 8-5 Monday-Friday and that's it, this job is not for you. If you are not a competitive and sales/numbers-driven person, this job is not for you. Long hours are sometimes required to get the job done effectively and quickly. You need to have a competitive spirit in order to make it in this profession.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Keep up with the strict screening process to ensure we have the people who are best fit for the company and teams. You can always train someone in a new skill, you can't change attitude and personality.

I worked at Special Counsel full-time

    Pros

Work/life balance. You often never take anything home with you to work on.

    Cons

    1. For a company who's primary resource is people-- you'd think they emphasize caring for their employees above all else. Unfortunately this is not the case. Their benefits are horrible, they nickle and dime everything including parking for their own employees.
    2. Try to find HR's phone number... let alone reach anyone in HR. Call benefits-- it's done by a third party, call IT-- it's done by a third party. No one has HR's number to call? Disgraceful.
    3. Every time you request anything and it's not possible, the answer is... well it's such a big company... blah blah blah. All of the huge international companies I have worked for in the past make it a point to make the huge company feel small and to provide the employees with the resources they need. The excuse that the company is too large does not create a good culture nor is it beneficial to the company. Changing this rhetoric and providing your employees with resources is necessary!
    4. Training. Your district/national territory managers are not well trained. Ask questions the answer is always.. I don't know. It's a big company. Instead it should be.. I'm not sure but let me find out for you, or here's the contact information for someone that would know. Not only that but when your direct supervisor belittles and makes fun of the other members of her own team in front of you and another employee, it's extremely unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture and the narrative. Provide a better salary, bonus structure, and benefits for your employees. Emphasize the importance your employees play in the company's success.

    Pros

Great people to work with- it really is a positive team environment.

    Cons

There are days that are heavy on the phone calls- but there is not a strict requirement and you're not monitored, you just need to make calls in order to be successful.

I have been working at Special Counsel full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is no boss and the company allows you to work around my own schedule and even on the weekends. Very interesting work that applies to students getting an MBA.

    Cons

Repetitive and minimal training with malfunctioning databases regularly. No overtime pay but plenty of opportunities to work more than 40 hours a week.

    Advice to Management

Training needs to take place to adequately allow associates to understand what they are doing without trial and error.

I worked at Special Counsel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid every week. Direct deposit. Most jobs had paid parking.

    Cons

Very inconsistent with communication. No follow up on placement situations. Consistently suggested very low paying temp opportunities. Office personnel seemed more interested in standing around talking instead of work. I was not happy with them.

    Advice to Management

Employ staff who are interested finding people jobs and communicating with candidates.
