    Great culture! Lots of perks

    Pros

This was a great place to work. And the SLC office is apparently the favorite office to visit. Dog friendly with a wonderful mix of puppies. Great discounts on equipment as well as deep discounts on open box stuff. Plenty of outside perks, as well. Fun group to work with, and I truly enjoyed going to work each day.

    Cons

Subject to economic crunches more than many companies. The pandemic is still having lasting effects, hence the layoffs and cutbacks.

    California image, typical corporate management

    Business Outlook

    Pros

great discounts, health insurance is above average. Products are new and interesting. coworkers on store level are great

    Cons

Upper mangement is out of touch with the physical operations of a their retail stores, sparse support, conflicting information and a lot of "figure it out" on your own. Corporate management cut retail employee hours 20% with a constantly moving end date (initially promised 4 weeks, then 5, etc). On boarding materials highlighting Black Friday as a paid holiday (stores closed) in which owned retail shops should team build and ride together; two weeks before Black Friday informed it is now not a paid holiday and stores are open for business as usual (are corporate employees working?) Merit based bonuses/employee reviews also keep getting pushed back. Store Visuals team and corporate management in general are quick to inform you're doing it "wrong" but little guidance on what is "right"

Bikes are fun, but corporate bloat

Dec 21, 2022 - Retail Support Specialist in Richmond, VA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Fun to work in the cycling industry - GREAT Discounts on product - AMAZING Benefits

    Cons

    - The company has so much corporate bloat that there is just too much going on - People would be constantly coming up with new S.O.P’s that were ridiculously complicated, just to show that they were working on something, and then for it to be change the next week

East Coast Owned Retail Needs Work

Oct 30, 2022 - Sales Associate in New York, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Great benefits/perks - Great for those passionate about bicycles; exposure to cutting edge product - Depending on your specific shop culture things run fairly smoothly and can be a very fun job

    Cons

    - Poor communication of goals/no significant presence from upper management and staff on the ground level - Surprise winter hour cuts (which is unfortunately somewhat standard for the bike industry) for hourly employees with no direct clarification or solidarity from upper management - Pay is poor with no clear room to grow. Some employees lied to on onset of store acquisition that pay raises would occur after 90-day eval period - Unorganized product roll out from top down - Unorganized onboarding of new employees

    Great culture, low pay

Aug 8, 2022 - Anonymous Employee in Salt Lake City, UT
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Amazing perks, culture, people, and work environment. Not a single day where I'm not excited to be at work.

    Cons

HR is VERY slow. Every process for switching roles, updating pay, or anything that requires paper work is drawn out months longer than it should. Pay in general is a bit low, but mildly offset by bike perks. Perks are not evenly distributed throughout the company. Different locations have different perks, but the access to bikes is wildly different depending on your size, location, and connections within the company.
