    Pros

    Great place to work at. The people and work environment were outstanding. Benefits offered to employees were some of the best in the industry.

    Cons

    No longer exists, merged with another company and that new company's work environment, salary pay rate and benefits are not on par.

    2- Good opportunities to learn about Natural gas and pipeline business.
    3- Plenty of opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

    Remote locations;
     For young engineers, you have to be willing to relocate to Northern areas

    Pros

    Good pay great for some
    Good benefits including Health & Vacation.
    Area I work at people are very nice and friendly

    Cons

    Read all the other posts, I was amazed how true they are across entire company.
    In the field there is no work life balance at all.

    Pros

    Focus on building leadership skills. Very stable. Upper management cares about employees. You will not feel you are just a number. Your voice will be heard.

    Cons

    Technical training is limited. Less career advancement. Job rotation only occurs on the top (e.g., Director or VP above), not to the low or middle level.

    Advice to Management

    Spend more money on the technical training for the employees who want to improve or expand their career. Create more job rotation (for low or middle level employees) to broad the employees' skills set if you cannot promote the employee; this is the least the company can or should do.

    Pros

    Excellent work life balance - 9/80, teleworking and part-time work.
    Health - there is a Nurse Practitioner on site and a clinic with two beds and nursing rooms. There is also a gym on sit
    Leaders - trustworthy and highly competent.
    Mid to Upper-level Management - usually leaves little to be desired.
    Great benefits - three weeks vacation immediately; 401(k) matching, pension and bonus.
    The company is always seeking to improve and always puts their employees first.

    Cons

    Salary is okay.
    Little room for growth.

    Keep up the good work!

    Pros

    Vision-driven company that actually believes in a balance between work and personal life balance. Smart executive management that is consistently executing a successful growth company. Solid benefits and vacation package.

    Cons

    Many within the company are unwilling to change old ways to embrace a new company environment. Pay may not be good enough to keep the best performers. Engineering bias makes other disciplines feel like secondary employees.

    Advice to Management

    Treat all professional disciplines equally. A engineer fresh out of college gets a better office than a well-experienced and educated professional. Otherwise, keep up the great work!

    Pros

    Spectra Energy provides a great work/life balance and supports its employees health and families. There is a lot of flexibility to move between groups/departments and learn new roles and grow your experience.

    Cons

    Timing is important when it comes to moving between groups and departments. Also, career progression can be difficult. Many folks leave the company looking for faster advancement or higher salaries. The company tends to lacks in that sense.

    Advice to Management

    Take pride in your employees and help them grow. There seems to be this consistent glass ceiling between employees, middle managers and upper management. Fear that if your employees start to know more than you, you will be replaced and thus, the management keeps their employees in check. That is when the rising employees begin to leave the company to search for more challenging and higher compensated positions.
