I have been working at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small company environment in terms of entrepreneurial culture, personal access to management, ability to have an impact, and lack of bureaucracy. Compensation and benefits are highly competitive with industry standards.

    Cons

Some people may prefer more structure and guidance in terms of getting that work done and career development.

    Advice to Management

Management could potentially do more in terms of having a formal career development aspect to the performance evaluation and measurement process.

I worked at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have some nice little products. Few good minds were there but they must be all gone by now. Except these I could see nothing positive.

    Cons

High NEPOTISM, Toxic environment, Low IQ Vice Presidents, High Micromanagement, Low Pay, Extreme Politics, Employees are never heard.

Anyone working here for more than an year finds it difficult to get a job outside. It took me 3 months of convincing to my new employer. if you dont trust me then do your homework and Google it all.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your people. Pay them all dues & respect your people. Stop throwing out your old employees for cheap ones. Tell the truth upfront and stop lying all the time.

I have been working at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overall positive atmosphere at the company. Many great team members in every department willing to help and move activities forward. If you can get out of the weeds it's a fun place to work.

Benefits are good for a small company and they have improved slowly over time.

Decent work life balance, but many are clearly overworked.

Good product pipeline with real promise after so many underachieving products.

    Cons

Consistent under staffing in critical areas (Medical, Regulatory) and slow to recruit replacements.

Very high turn over in Clinical as a result of CEO meddling too deep operationally and not letting the teams makes decisions. Poor staffing decisions by the CEO (Friends and Family Network) resulting in poor and inconsistent leadership. The best have left that group. There are some great new hires but senior leadership is missing in Clinical.

Leadership decisions are very emotionally driven rather than through detailed discussion and due diligence. Leadership wants a quick return and isn't willing to invest in many of the existing products.

    Advice to Management

Let the teams make decisions and support those decisions.

Focus on the big picture for existing products and allow the teams to create new opportunities for the products. Not everything can occur quickly.

Quit hiring your friends and family.

I have been working at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals full-time

    Pros

Good benefits - Competivite pay - executive management easily accessable - I've been working at spectrum for less than a year and it seems like they are doing what they can to make their employees happy. Management isn't perfect but it seems like they are trying to do the right thing

    Cons

No cons that I can recall thus far.

I worked at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In general, a lot of hard working people who believe in helping bring new cancer therapies to market. A few under-rated excellent drugs that could really help people if managed properly. You can get a decent salary of you know the right people, or

    Cons

Micromanaged, tyrannical leadership style. Nepotism, sexism, and cronyism is flaunted. Constantly focusing only on cash position - trying to squeeze employees to give more, while giving them less in return. Even when rolling out "New & improved" benefits, they find ways to cut corners to the detriment of naïve employees while lining the pockets of senior execs and board of directors. Worst of all, product selection has moved away from the mission of "unmet medical needs" and instead is all about "me too" products to try to earn a quick profit. Once I had a peak behind the curtain, I quickly found a more deserving company to devote my efforts and expertise.

    Advice to Management

Grow a conscious & spread the wealth. It's only a matter of time before your lawyers can't get you out of one of the many deserved lawsuits.

    Pros

Excellent Salary and Benefits, very talented staff (other than management).

    Cons

Huge turnover and most people are forced to do the work of multiple people and skill sets. The CEO and most of the Senior Management are evil.

    Advice to Management

    This isn't India.

    Cons

No rewards. No growth. Promotions are offered to employees who have good relations with the management.

    Advice to Management

Instead of the show up with vegas party and all, the company should pay good for the employees for all the work
