I have been working at Spencer Gifts part-time

    Pros

Very accepting, Practically no dress code (just wear clothes), raise after 90 day assessment

    Cons

If you're uncomfortable talking to people about sex toys or their sex life to find out what would work for them that may be a con. Also it does take time to learn about the pierced jewelry but it's also a pro because you have your team to help you learn.

I worked at Spencer Gifts full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Can make our own schedules and hire our own staff, laid back dress code, decent vacation time off, can be fun at times.

    Cons

Over worked and unappreciated for all the work managers do, expected to work more than 40 hours but got not overtime, high turnover for associates and sales sups due to low hours and low pay, high school type drama all the time, DM plays favorites and is not caring, payroll is way to low, way to understaffed to get things done on time(due to low payroll), customers stealing daily, corporate keeps horrible and shady managers around when they should be let go, no advancements after store manager,

    Pros

    - 30% employee discount - Good Music - Casual Dress Code

    Pros

    Dress code is laid back!

    Cons

Regional is very fake and acts like she cares, but doesn’t and you can see it! Wages are way to low for retail! This is not the best place to work!

I worked at Spencer Gifts part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The music in the store was nice. 35% employee discount worked great. No dress-code, so you can wear what you wanted. Really nice customers. Flexibility for students and if you're in high school.

    Cons

Not a lot of training. Not flexibile in terms of scheduling. Management was lacking at my location, and really wasn't educated. Wanted to throw associates under the bus and put too much of their responsibility on the Sales Supervisor and associates. The pay. Our store associates only made $8.50 hourly and got a $0.50 raise after 90 long days. Other stores made almost $10-11 hourly. Lightning Line wasn't that helpful.
