I have been working at Spherion full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Paid holidays off, easy work life balance

    Cons

Poor training, lack of direction because one owner gives you one set of directions, the other dismisses or openly yells at the other, a lot of tension

    Advice to Management

Culture matters, a person can not be productive if they do not feel appreciated

    Pros

Good pay you get a 45 cent raise after three months. The benefits are okay they could be a Little cheaper.

    Cons

No life they will work you seven days with 12 hours through the week for months. No life/work Balance might as well say you live here

    Advice to Management

Give people their weekends off and it wouldn't be a high turn over rate in this place.

    Pros

Have wide availability of jobs with different employers
Can be Temp to Perm so you see if employer is good fit

If you get too much in bonuses they change the formula
Management will look you right in the eye and lie to you knowing it is a lie

    Advice to Management

    Pros

I worked with a lot of people that had experience as an Administrative Analyst that understood the plight of that position so the people and the environment was a plus.

    Cons

Working as a contractor I had no benefits so if I needed to take a day off it was unpaid.

I have been working at Spherion part-time

    Pros

Nice staff. Finds me work when available. Always friendly when I come in to do paperwork.

    Cons

Jobs Spherion finds for me are not related to my field of study. Would like something more in my field, but am happy to have work when I do get some. Temporary jobs are fairly short, and are always promised to have long term possibilities of being hired.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest having more IT, office, and retail jobs available. While general labor is available frequently, there are retail and other businesses in the area too.

I have been working at Spherion (Less than a year)

    Pros

Found me online for a job that fell in line with my experience and was working within a month.
    Weekly pay.

    Cons

There are benefits but they are not the best, this is temp/contract work, not much to expect.
NO Paid Time off or SICK days, which sucks because in NYC we should be covered under the paid sick leave act, since we are NOT Independent Contractors.
They really do shave a big percentage off of your hourly rate. In NYC NO one can barely make ends meet at $14 an hour...I'm sure the position I'm working pays at least $22-$23.In the past 11 months that I have been working here, I believe I was contacted twice to see how "it was going" and I reached out to them for additional opportunities about 2 months ago, and have yet to hear back.

    Advice to Management

PTO should be accrued as well as sick time, we are people, not machines.
Check in with your people! Listen to their needs, and offer higher hourly rates, If we are going to be treated as the "outcasts/temps" in the office, we should at least be paid appropriately.

    Advice to Management

Less personal time in office and more attention to the people who are looking for a job
