I worked at Spicers Paper full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great leadership from the top down. Customer satisfaction and service is top priority. Fellow employees are engaged and helpful.

    Cons

Fairly lean organization. Some times during vacations or sick days, support could suffer a bit but they always get it done.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Spicers Paper full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Small community, little supervision, really chill atmosphere. Just do your job, make the numbers in time, and don't be late/miss work.

    Cons

Not climate controlled, so winters are cold. No bathroom near machine being operated on. Seniority rules, and the most junior person has been there for five years do if layoffs ever occur, you'll always be first. Also pay scale tops out at $22.50/hour currently so you lose motivation to excel when there's no incentive for doing better.

    Advice to Management

Not really. Management is fair, down to earth. I guess it can be frustrating at times when a job is changed at the last minute and you have to re-setup a job. Other than that, management treats you well.

I have been working at Spicers Paper (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly work environment and incredibly helpful co-workers. The small(er) office size lends itself to a lot of cross-department collaboration. The executives and managers don't hide behind appointment books and assistants and have a fairly consistent open-door policy.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement or promotion. There is a sizable group of employees who have been with the company 10-20+ years and are very entrenched in their way of doing things and resistant to change.

I have been working at Spicers Paper full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This location is a union shop and you have great benefits, you make decent money, and there is a lot work.

    Cons

You have a lot of hours and new rules that are implemented all the time. You work nights at the beginning until you are able to move up to days if you want.

    Advice to Management

I think they are doing a good job maybe just listen to their employees a little more, they might be able to help with some of the problems they might have.
