I have been working at SpinCore Technologies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Every person who works here is super nice, and you'll probably make new friends by working here. The owner is very generous with giving free lunches and gift cards. Plus, your work schedule is flexible.

    Cons

The owner is extremely critical and gives long explanations of why what you did was a "disaster" about once a week. There are so many things to learn how to do if you work in the office, and you don't really receive proper training upon hire. The owner's instructions are often contradictory, illogical, or just downright ridiculous. You'll have much more anxiety in your life worrying about if you messed something up, since the owner will never let you forget that you are incompetent. The owner doesn't have any sort of business degree at all, so it's not surprising that he never knows what to do when you have questions about important things.

    Advice to Management

Honestly, the owner should never come in or just sell the business. He's completely ruining his chances of long-run success by continuing to make poor business decisions.

I have been working at SpinCore Technologies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free lunch pretty often.
Beverages and snacks are provided for you.
Flexible hours; very willing to work with students.
Coworkers, besides the manager, are usually very friendly.

    Cons

First, I have never met or heard of Megan Podsiad. The owner of the business is not Megan.
The owner is extremely temperamental. This causes A LOT of stress, as it is extremely hard to satisfy his expectations.
Manager does not know how to manage individuals. His criticism is just berating. He often talks poorly of other employees while they are not in the company. I guess he thinks we won't hear about it.
Very poor learning environment. He expects you to finish a task in an unreasonable amount of time, especially for college students.

    Advice to Management

    Think before you speak.
Please, please, PLEASE treat your employees better. I often consider just taking out more loans rather than working here. Gift cards are not sufficient compensation to stress.
Practice what you preach. If you say it is a flat organizational structure, then we shouldn't have bosses. But it often feels as if I am bossed around rather than advised or aided.
Don't ask vague questions and only take a particular answer. Not everyone thinks like you do.
On that note, don't answer questions just so you can answer them. That's aggravating.

Poor management, insufficient training, no structure for company.

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

While I experienced many negative aspects of this job, there were a few perks. I was able to work alongside everyone in the company and be involved with different responsibilities- such as reviewing QuickBooks, contacting potential and current customers, and prepare all products for shipments.

    Cons

The manager (and owner) is almost impossible to work with. He is very erratic when it comes to how he wants things done and therefore you never know if you are doing the job correctly, he is insensitive and rude.

    Advice to Management

Be patient and stick to what methods you prefer, and most of all be respectful of your employees and their experience at SpinCore.

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Highly exposed to electronics and RF devices that you will not see in school.
There will be absolutely no place more horrifying to work than here. This job will prepare you mentally for any ridicule or chaotic environment you will encounter in your career.
You are an actual engineer here and not reporting to someone above you.
Very good opportunity to build your resume and move on to a more professional job.
    Decent Pay.
The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of -5 is because of the opportunities it will open for you.

    Cons

The owner is detrimental to the company and does not value his employees. Almost every one of his actions or thoughts are not logical in the least yet he is rooted in his ways. His organization skills are horrendous and any employee efforts to improve this are shut down. His business knowledge/decisions are equally as terrible. This company has a lot of potential, but the owner is driving it into the ground. The owner needs to leave this place and stop ruining it.

    Advice to Management

Send the owner home and do not allow him at the facility! He destroys the company every day he comes to work. This would solve so many problems in the company but here are a few more things.
Software upgrades. (Don't go cheap on this, it's hurting the company)
Computer organization (Way way too many unused and outdated folders)
Company hierarchy/management needs to exist (currently none).
    Inventory organization.
    Real training.
Again I can not stress how much the owner needs to not be at the facility when people are working. He makes the whole company extremely inefficient and is hurting SpinCore.

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible schedule, free lunch. Your coworkers are very nice and understanding if you get frustrated on the job. Being the last one in the office can be very relaxing. Customers tend to be easy to work with as well.

    Cons

No training, learn everything as you go. Boss changes his mind on what he wants a lot. He gets very nit picky and stops seeing the big picture on projects. Poor graphic design choices in general around the office.

    Advice to Management

Train your employees. If you want your employees to know more about the product, allow them time to learn it, or bring it home to study it. No one in the office fully understands how NMR works except the boss. The boss doesn't fully understand the programming behind the computer boards.

    Pros

Learn pcb/vhdl/C coding. but your paid is very low, maybe less than 10$/ hour.... The boss is nice, and all the guy works there is part time student.

    Cons

the pay is very low, maybe less than 10$/ hour.... the boss some times change your project in the middle.

    Advice to Management

Pay more, and hire more engineering guys with experiences. Complete the hiring process(some guys have been rejcted once, and accepted in another interview in 3 days later.)

I have been working at SpinCore Technologies part-time

    Pros

You'll get a great resume builder while working here. Even though it doesn't seem like it, the manager is only so mean because he wants the best out of you. You will be a real engineer here.

Awesome pay for college students here as well.

    Cons

The most stressful job experience you will have in your life. The manager will constantly remind you of everything you have ever done wrong.

    Advice to Management

Be more tactful with your "constructive" criticism. Either that, or find a new manager.

I worked at SpinCore Technologies part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Competitive pay
    - Free lunch (only if you work on Friday)
    - Somewhat flexible hours

    Cons

    - Hostile work environment (as others have noted)
    - HIGH stress for what should be an easy position
    - Owner unwilling to let employees have any autonomy
    - The owner quite LITERALLY prints out/writes down any mistakes you've ever made and puts it in a pile. Periodically he will sit you down and go over all of said mistakes, and will frequently consult other student on how to deal with you and your said mistakes. This feels highly inappropriate
