    I have been working at Spireon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Exciting and fast paced environment. As a platform software company with multiple verticals it's always exciting and changing. If you are adaptable and like challenges this is a great place to work at. We just finished some major migrations of our legacy customer base and now can focus more of our energy on innovation. We continue to expand our product offering and seem to be able to attract great talent.

    Cons

    Like with any company who is going to substantial changes their is a small subset of employees who are moving in the wrong direction. Disappointing to see how some people are focused bashing the company. Some departments are evolving slower than others which creates

    Advice to Management

    Help us to prioritize projects and appropriately resource big bets. Exciting to see how Spireon University has expanded, Make sure we keep adding content and development opportunities.

    I have been working at Spireon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good hours and friendly people that work at this location. Direct management at this location is helpful and as supportive as possible.

    Cons

    Located thousands of miles away from corporate and treated that way. Completely separated from all information, updates, and support. Management at this location is helpful, but completely overworked and receives very little support as well, it is obvious management here is overworked under paid and stressted out creating a harder working environment. You will spend more time justifying and fighting upper management for the commission you earned than selling. The stipulations and quotes are way over the top and there will be many months that you do not receive compensation for your work because you have not hit their extreme minimums. The office is falling apart, constantly needing matainence that rarely comes, bugs, rodents, and electrical problems, we got it. There used to be quadruple the size of staff in the office now the medium size office is down to under 10 employees. Overall from what I can tell if you want to work for spireon work at the corporate office in CA or do not work here at all.

    Advice to Management

    Support the TX branch at the same level that you support California. Hire more individuals instead of dumping 3 jobs worth of work on 1 person.

    Advice to Management

    * Traveling to California every 10 weeks on the company's dime
    * Great engineers/people at Irving, TX office
    * No micro management
    * Solid vision for their platform

    Cons

    * Traveling to California every 10 weeks
    * Current technology is dated
    * Too much process (SAFE)

    Advice to Management

    Cut down on the process and start planning on migrating to current technology more rapidly.

    Pros

    Growing quickly in the "Internet of Things" space. High margin and leader in the field of auto finance (sub-prime) protection.

    Cons

    Management is bloated. It does not focus on its elevated cost structure. It is not people oriented and needs to focus on its core technology.

    Advice to Management

    Restructure into two parts. Cut the expense structure to the bone. Put a freeze on hiring. With the new cost structure, move the pricing lower to be better able to compete in the market place.

    I worked at Spireon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Free coffee (the cheapest they can get by with) and if you're a worker not management or an executive, a close bond with who you're in the trenches with.

    Cons

    Profits over people, only out to sell the company, zero appreciation, intimidation, no culture, constant fear of being fired, bro executives, meetings over action, catering to sales team, reactionary, over promising and under delivering to customers, tech riddled with issues, rushing to market just to make a sale, long hours demanded and checked by CEO, disorganized, changing priorities that kills momentum, fast paced with no eye on quality, lack of resources, HR run for the benefit of the company not employees (new boss=all new dept in less than a year) it goes on. The most disturbing is seeing employees who are here one day and gone the next. Long time people who built the company and worked nights and weekends just cut and replaced with a cheaper warm body or an execs friends. It's no wonder that so many ex employees go on to work for competitors or start their own rival companies.

    Advice to Management

    There's a reason why you're having to cover up so many negative reviews. Put effort into addressing the issues. When you treat people with respect and provide a great working environment and caring leadership, that's when you'll get the results you want. People want to be paid well and have work/life balance. They want to feel appreciated. Fear of being fired is a huge distraction and doesn't make people loyal or want to work hard for the company. The more you continue to bully and intimidate people, the less and less you're going to get out of them.

    Pros

    Upper management boasts the smartest man alive, if you doubt it, just ask him.
    You'll get your paycheck at least 50% of the time.

    Cons

    Complete sham. Zero interest in customer or employee satisfaction, just trying to keep juggling long enough to sell the company. If you're looking for a hostile work environment and some free coffee, this is the place for you. However, if you value your professional reputation and don't want to have to lie to your customers, the amount of information is overwhelming.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.

    Cons

    ego driven rather than customer focused
    confused disruptive behavior with forward momentum
    more focused on selling company than building a sustainable success
    little if any respect for current leadership

    Advice to Management

    the 1970s cartoonlike tantrums don't improve a thing. mad men makes a great show, not relevant today. less talk about selling the company more consistent action to build the current product and org would be helpful.
