I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growing, improving, diverse, fun atmosphere, travel benefits, great health insurance, 401k, get to change people's opinions of what they've heard about Spirit in the past, unionized, newest plane's on the market

    Cons

Overall reputation, no profit sharing, no flexibility in scheduling, start pay is $20 an hr, pilots do not have a contract, conflict between higher up's and pilots

    Advice to Management

Why are we still not profit sharing? It seems as if the higher up's are only concerned about their cut at the end of the year. The drama between you and pilots needs to be cut out; we need an inviting atmosphere that makes good pilots want to work for Spirit, not the constant rumor spreading and emails

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company is rapidly growing, so you're off reserve fairly quick and the schedule is extremely flexible. Great benefits and the work is easy.

    Cons

It's an Ultra Low Cost Carrier, yet customers still expect the perks of flying a legacy. Starting pay could be higher and customer service could be improved.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule. Easy work. Very rewarding. Healthcare and Travel benefits are worth it. The interview process is not very strenuous.

    Cons

Initial Training is very hard if you have never worked in the aviation industry. The pay is not the best but seniority is everything.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great flight benefits, full healthcare options. Room to grow in the company depending on your dept.

    Cons

Many different directions being taken by upper management. Does not run as smoothly as bigger airlines.

    Advice to Management

There should be one, clear cut direction and plan. To run with bigger airlines, we have to think like bigger airlines. Everyone wants to take it in their own direction and that doesn't work.

I have been working at Spirit Airlines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are amazing, I can usually get the days off I need through dropping or trading, most passengers are great

    Cons

The reputation. Although we are working hard to improve it, it's hard to get people over the perception, especially when they don't read and understand the fees.
