I worked at Spirit Cruises full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some decent co-workers, with one or two exceptions. Meet lots of great people (PATRONS). Decent starting Pay, for food service industry.

    Cons

HIRED AS FULL TIME- NEVER GOT MORE THAN 20 HOURS A WEEK!
SERVERS GIVE LOUSY TIP OUTS TO SERVICE BAR!
Bartenders are treated like a lower life form. I, for one, am no ones SLAVE. Busted my butt during these cruises, making THOUSANDS of dollars worth of cocktails, throughout SOMETIMES two cruises per day, only to be tipped out $3.00-5.00 apiece from 4 SERVERS! I KNOW my drinks were good, as was my service, because when I worked independently of the servers I would make anywhere between 120.00 and 200.00 a cruise! also, some servers were so inept that their patrons would give up waiting for them and approach me directly ALWAYS leaving a tip! Multiple complaints to supervisors were IGNORED.
The list of cons goes on...
Was terminated after manager accused me of stealing a SHOT OF LIQUOR that a patron had purchased for me, but I was not, per their policy, allowed to drink with the customer. Had the manager taken time to check my POS, like he did the video that showed me POURING the shot he would have seen that I rang up each and every shot... and that all I was doing was taking something that was bought for me, to an upper deck.

    Advice to Management

DON'T THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE HAVE A TITLE THEY ARE AS HONEST AS YOU CLAIM THEY ARE. Some people SHOULD NOT have the title of Manager!

I worked at Spirit Cruises part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice coworkers, free shift meal, nice environment. Monthly employee party, very simple job duties.
If you like being on the water it's a fun place to work.
This review is half cocked as I just wanted to unlock my profile.

    Cons

Off season is very slow, you receive bi-weekly pay so it is hard for commuters. Very unaccommodating management, no breaks, little growth potential. Physically

    Advice to Management

Please communicate better with employees, especially commuters in the slow season. If you understood that the take home daily tips are low/non-existent as when costumers pay for a ticket that includes the buffet and cruise, they don't expect to have to tip for drink service. That fact, in addition to Bi-weekly pay in the off season makes it very difficult for a commuter to get by financially.

    Pros

It is Good pay and some limited travel with relative or manageable pressure, The holding company is now foreign and difficult to work with.

    Cons

Th scrutiny is dramatically intense. There is no autonomy in the job despite the fact that there are branches throughout the country. You will go nowhere without an ivy league degree.

I worked at Spirit Cruises part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

most of the veteran crew/staff is good to work with, you usually can get something to eat, it can be pleasant working with the customers.

    Cons

Low pay schedule keeps hours low not enough training grungy locker room have to buy your uniforms.pushing dumpsters (an electric palletjack wouldbe great) comprehensive training manual would be great

    Advice to Management

share the profits not just the work and responsibility get operation organized structured and documented include everyone in or people won't care about doing an excellent job for the customer

    Pros

I met my girlfriend here. Got to listen to nice music and look out over the river

    Cons

The people that work there are horrible. The talk crap all day. They gossip. They spread rumors. And this goes out to the employees AND the bosses. They overlook people. Your reward for doing well is you still keep your job, that's basically it. They fire you for ANY LITTLE THING! They demand you to work EVERY HOLIDAY and you DON'T get time and a half for it! People that work there are treated so badly and you are not allowed to have a voice. Even when you voice your opinion, your voice is still not heard. This company is AWFUL!! They treat their employees like CRAP!!

    Advice to Management

Yall full of CRAP!! STOP selling this crap how this is such a great company knowing damn well it's not! Everybody that are shipmates are UNHAPPY!!
