Pros

Leaving is the only pro

Cons

Save yourself and your mental health and get a job somewhere else. They will lie to your face, and blame you after when they have changed things. The workload was unmanageable and the expectations were so high, I spent 17 hours a day keeping up with it all. Everyone who has left in the past 2 years has all left for the same reasons, Saba and his bullying. Saba the CEO is nice to your face, but a monster behind a screen. This Company is NOT worth it. They will try and sell it like you're going to do great things, but if you try to stand up to Saba or you don't like micro-management you will find yourself out of a job. I have witnessed and experienced so much bullying during my time there, that it drove me to stress leave, and then forced resignation as soon as I was back. They tell you they will look after you, but they won't. They don't want to pay people their notice, so they do the absolute minimum. Anyone thinking about coming here, don't. Save yourself, Spocket isn't worth it.

Pros

Worked with some nice people.

Cons

I was hired on as a developer for a “sprint” that was expected to last about 3 weeks. What I didn’t know at the time was that 3 week sprint would turn into a 6 month ordeal of 12 hour days and abuse. All the while, I was being paid well under market, waiting for a salary review that never came. During my time at Spocket, I saw 4 other employees let go. 2 of which were hired and let go within the time I was there. Furthermore, I doubt the company’s business ethics for a number reasons, which I have chosen not to elaborate on. In any case, I fell into the mindset that I was not an employee, but rather a team member committed to the success of the company as a whole. A mindset which justified my sacrifices, and the ones of my co-workers (in hindsight, seeing someone work from the hospital where their wife is in labour should be frowned upon). To a degree, this was exciting, but it was far from being a healthy relationship. By the end, I was severely depressed. I don’t necessarily blame the company for letting me go; near the end of my time there, I was exhausted and under-preforming. Having re-examined my time with them however, I am firmly of the belief that the company treats it’s employees in a destructive and reckless manor.

Pros

The people at Spocket are amazing (minus one person). They are hard working, kind, and simply incredible people to work with. There's an opportunity for growth and learning new skills, but no advancement.

Cons

The company culture is toxic. The CEO is an abusive bully and everyone hates him. Hopefully Spocket's investors can figure out the damage he has caused and get rid of him before its too late. you've been warned! also, all of the positive reviews on glassdoor, shopify, wix, google, etc are fake. I've had to write some as well from the pressure.
