I worked at Sport England full-time
Nice people and staff are very well looked after in terms of receiving generous benefits.
In some instances there are few opportunities for career progression
Advice to Management
None - I think senior management are very invested in ensuring that staff are happy and fulfilled
Learnt a lot in a short amount of time.
Great pay as an intern
Given a lot of responsibility
Easy to build rapport with staff members. Very friendly.
Not much diversit within the company.
Advice to Management
Considering this was my first internship I Thoroughly enjoyed my time there and I learnt a lot in a short amount of time.
Considering you are trying to target those who are disabled, women from a south Asian background, BME's your workforce should represent that. Particularly with the main office being based in London.
Maybe in the future consider implementing a grad scheme to bring in more young people.
I have been working at Sport England as a contractor
Very collegiate atmosphere - full of people who are clearly passionate about their jobs and about sport. The organisation itself is very flexible and affords opportunities to employees to gain experience across all areas. Management communicate strategic designs to employees and encourage departments to present to others on their work so everyone understands how the wider organisation functions.
Despite its great internship programme, entry routes into Sport England are scarce and there are relatively few 16-25 year old employees - headcount issues seem prohibitive.

1% pay freeze, (although this is outside of Sport England's control)
