I worked at Sports Authority part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Relaxed working atmosphere
    - Organized and direct training for employees
    - Employment stability

    Cons

    - Pushing employees to coerce customers into signing up for the rewards program certainly hurt working environment
    - Company encouraged competition among employees, but not in a positive manner
    - Store management was poor, especially regarding employee morale

    Advice to Management

As a company, Sports Authority was largely out of touch with their consumer base. The store didn't carry high-end sporting equipment like it used to, and didn't carry anything unique that a typical customer couldn't find on Amazon. Archaic policies and systems for managing employees caused conflict and selfishness among associates, resulting in high turnover and poor leadership.
